Artist's Dozen Installation

Brisbane City Council funded Artist's Dozen, a "fresh take on a traditional Christmas carol. Twelve artists will create large sculptural artworks from pre-made numbers to portray their own interpretation of a line of the carol, ‘The Twelve Days of Christmas’. The giant numbers will be installed, day by day, at King George Square in the twelve days leading up to Christmas Eve, with the artist decorating the piece throughout the day. With each passing day, the numbers will slowly take over the entire space, completely transforming King George Square and marking the transition into the Festive Season." My number was 3 for "3 French Hens" interpreting the birds into Japanese paper cranes carrying the message of peace. Room Yuki was a series of installation work that was a part of "Hiromi Hotel" by Hiromi Tango. All works were made in 2009 in collaboration with Hiromi Hotel / Hiromi Tango.

Exhibited in Circle Gallery in West End, Brisbane, as a part of “Straight from the Heart” exhibition sponsored by Brisbane City Council. Two paper crane balls on the left side inside of the tent in the first two photographs are made by Sachiko Gardener.
